LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch.8

THE BOARD SHALL NOTIFY EACH QUALIFIED APPLICANT OF THE
TIME AND PLACE OF EXAMINATION.

(D)  SUBJECTS AND METHOD OF EXAMINATION.

(1)  EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS
SUBSECTION. THE BOARD SHALL DETERMINE THE SUBJECTS, SCOPE,
FORM, AND PASSING SCORE FOR EXAMINATIONS GIVEN UNDER THIS
TITLE.

(2)  TO THE EXTENT THE BOARD FINDS PRACTICABLE,
THE EXAMINATION GIVEN TO APPLICANTS FOR A GENERAL LICENSE TO
PRACTICE DENTISTRY SHALL BE IN WRITING.

(E)  PARTICIPATION BY CONSUMER MEMBERS OF BOARD.

UNLESS AUTHORIZED BY THE BOARD, THE CONSUMER MEMBERS OF
THE BOARD MAY NOT PARTICIPATE IN ANY ACTIVITY RELATED TO
EXAMINATIONS UNDER THIS TITLE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 32, §
2B(c), § 4, and the references to examinations in
§ 5(a) and from Art. 32, § 29(a).

Subsection (a) of this section is standard
language added to this and, where necessary,
corresponding sections of other titles of this
article, as discussed in the General Revisor's
Note to this article.

Subsection (c) of this section is standard
language added to conform with Board practice and
with present, similar provisions that govern
examination for licensing by other health
occupation boards. It provides an element of
fundamental fairness by requiring the Board to
give qualified applicants notice before giving
the examinations.

In subsection (e) of this section, the word
"authorized" is substituted for "approved", for
clarity.

4-306. WAIVER OF EXAMINATIONS.

(A) IN GENERAL.

SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION, THE BOARD
MAY WAIVE ANY EXAMINATION REQUIREMENT OF THIS TITLE FOR:

(1) AN APPLICANT FOR A GENERAL LICENSE TO
