1506 LAWS OF MARYLAND Ch. 252
(I) THE FOLLOWING PROVISIONS APPLY TO AN INDIVIDUAL
WHO IS A RESERVIST IN A STATE MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL GUARD
OR OTHER RESERVE COMPONENT OF THE U.S. ARMED FORCES:
(1) IF THE INDIVIDUAL IS OTHERWISE UNEMPLOYED,
HE MAY NOT BE CONSIDERED TO BE EMPLOYED BECAUSE HE IS
ENGAGED IN PART-TIME ACTIVITIES AS A RESERVIST INACTIVE DUTY
FOR TRAINING.
(2) THE INDIVIDUAL MAY NOT BE CONSIDERED
UNAVAILABLE FOR WORK BY REASON OF HIS PART-TIME ACTIVITIES
AS A RESERVIST INACTIVE DUTY FOR TRAINING.
(3) REMUNERATION WHICH THE INDIVIDUAL RECEIVES
FOR PARTICIPATING IN DRILL, TRAINING, OR OTHER RESERVE
ACTIVITY WHICH OCCURS ON A WEEKEND OR AT EVENING OR NIGHT
DURING THE WEEK INACTIVE DUTY FOR TRAINING MAY NOT BE
DEDUCTED FROM THE WEEKLY UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE BENEFIT TO
WHICH HE IS OTHERWISE ENTITLED.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety
and having been passed by a yea and nay vote supported by
three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
