LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 237

(I) 1. MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT;

(II) 2. COUNTY GOVERNMENT;

(III) 3. A SANITARY OR A METROPOLITAN
COMMISSION;

(IV) 4. WATERWORKS SUPERVISION;

(V) 5. WASTEWATER WORKS OR INDUSTRIAL
WASTEWATER WORKS SUPERVISION; AND

(VI) 6. AGRICULTURE; AND

(VII) (II) AN ENGINEER FROM THE
DEPARTMENT.

(3) THE SECRETARY SHALL APPOINT:

(I)  ONE ENGINEER MEMBER FROM THE
DEPARTMENT; AND

(II)  ONE INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER WORKS
SUPERINTENDENT MEMBER.

(B)  OATH.

BEFORE TAKING OFFICE, EACH APPOINTEE TO THE BOARD SHALL
TAKE THE OATH REQUIRED BY ARTICLE I, § 9 OF THE STATE
CONSTITUTION.

(C)  MEMBERS APPOINTED BY GOVERNOR -- TENURE;
VACANCIES.

(1)  THE TERM OF A MEMBER APPOINTED BY THE
GOVERNOR IS 4 YEARS.

(2)  THE TERMS OF MEMBERS APPOINTED BY THE

GOVERNOR ON JULY 1, 1981 ARE STAGGERED ACCORDING TO THE
FOLLOWING EXPIRATION DATES ARE STAGGERED AS REQUIRED BY THE
TERMS PROVIDED FOR MEMBERS OF THE BOARD ON JULY 1, 1981.
THE TERMS OF THOSE MEMBERS END AS FOLLOWS:

(I)  THREE MEMBERS IN 1982;

(II)  ONE MEMBER IN 1983;

(III)  ONE MEMBER IN 1984; AND

(IV)  TWO MEMBERS IN 1985.

(3)  AT THE END OF A TERM, A MEMBER APPOINTED BY
THE GOVERNOR CONTINUES TO SERVE UNTIL A SUCCESSOR IS
APPOINTED AND QUALIFIES.
