to claims for, or the payment of, regular benefits shall
apply to claims for, and the payment of, extended benefits.

(H) (1) EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN PARAGRAPH (2), AN
INDIVIDUAL SHALL NOT BE PAID EXTENDED BENEFITS FOR ANY WEEK
PURSUANT TO AN INTERSTATE CLAIM FILED IN ANOTHER STATE UNDER
THE INTERSTATE BENEFIT PAYMENT PLAN UNLESS AN EXTENDED
BENEFIT PERIOD IS IN EFFECT FOR THAT WEEK IN THAT OTHER
STATE AS WELL AS IN MARYLAND.

(2) PARAGRAPH (1) SHALL NOT APPLY WITH RESPECT
TO THE FIRST TWO WEEKS FOR WHICH EXTENDED BENEFITS ARE
PAYABLE PURSUANT TO AN INTERSTATE CLAIM FILED UNDER THE
INTERSTATE BENEFIT PAYMENT PLAN TO THE INDIVIDUAL FROM THE
EXTENDED BENEFIT ACCOUNT ESTABLISHED FOR THE INDIVIDUAL WITH
RESPECT TO HIS BENEFIT YEAR.

(I) ANY INDIVIDUAL WHO IS DISQUALIFIED FOR BENEFITS
FOR A SPECIFIED PERIOD OF WEEKS PURSUANT TO SECTIONS 6(A),
(C), OR (D), IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE EXTENDED BENEFITS
UNLESS THAT PERIOD OF DISQUALIFICATION HAS ENDED AND UNLESS
HE HAS BEEN EMPLOYED SUBSEQUENT TO THE DATE OF THE
DISQUALIFICATION.

(J) AN INDIVIDUAL SHALL BE DISQUALIFIED FOR EXTENDED
BENEFITS FOR ANY WEEK OF UNEMPLOYMENT IN HIS ELIGIBILITY
PERIOD DURING WHICH HE FAILS TO ACTIVELY ENGAGE IN SEEKING
WORK. SUCH DISQUALIFICATION SHALL CONTINUE THEREAFTER UNTIL
THE INDIVIDUAL HAS BEEN EMPLOYED DURING AT LEAST 4 WEEKS
WHICH BEGIN AFTER HIS FAILURE TO ACTIVELY ENGAGE IN SEEKING
WORK AND HAS EARNINGS THEREIN EQUAL TO AT LEAST FOUR TIMES
HIS WEEKLY EXTENDED BENEFIT AMOUNT. FOR PURPOSES OF THIS
SECTION, "ACTIVELY ENGAGED IN SEEKING WORK" MEANS THAT THE
INDIVIDUAL IS ENGAGED IN A SYSTEMATIC AND SUSTAINED EFFORT
THROUGHOUT THE WEEK TO OBTAIN WORK AND THE INDIVIDUAL
PROVIDES TANGIBLE EVIDENCE OF SUCH EFFORT.

(K) (1) AN INDIVIDUAL SHALL BE DISQUALIFIED FOR
EXTENDED BENEFITS FOR ANY WEEK OF UNEMPLOYMENT IN HIS
ELIGIBILITY PERIOD DURING WHICH HE FAILS TO ACCEPT ANY OFFER
OF SUITABLE WORK OR FAILS TO APPLY FOR ANY SUITABLE WORK TO
WHICH HE IS REFERRED BY THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR. SUCH
DISQUALIFICATION SHALL THEREAFTER CONTINUE UNTIL THE
INDIVIDUAL HAS BEEN EMPLOYED DURING AT LEAST 4 WEEKS WHICH
BEGIN AFTER HIS FAILURE TO APPLY FOR OR ACCEPT SUITABLE WORK
AND HAS EARNINGS THEREIN EQUAL TO AT LEAST FOUR TIMES HIS
WEEKLY EXTENDED BENEFIT AMOUNT.

(2) EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (3), FOR
THE PURPOSES OF THIS SECTION "SUITABLE WORK" MEANS:

(I)  THE WORK IS WITHIN THE INDIVIDUAL'S
CAPABILITIES;

(II)  THE GROSS AVERAGE WEEKLY REMUNERATION
PAYABLE FOR THE WORK EXCEEDS THE SUM OF THE INDIVIDUAL'S
WEEKLY EXTENDED BENEFIT AMOUNT PLUS ANY SUPPLEMENTAL
