1981 DEFICIENCY APPROPRIATION
The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services
shall not fill any position of employment in excess of
6,519 positions, of its total number of authorized
positions at any one time during F.Y. 1981, the
remaining vacant positions or any number of such vacant
positions may be filled for the specific position needs
as approved by the Beard of Public Works. It is
intended that a Consolidated Manpower program be
utilized for the express purpose of meeting the
Departmental manpower requirements to the end that each
position filled is of the highest priority. Excess
general funds remaining from [any position vacancy]
SALARIES AND WAGES shall revert to the treasury and not
be used for any other purpose[, provided that such
excess funds exceed turnover expectancy reduction].
FURTHER PROVIDED THAT THE AGGREGATE EXPENDITURE FOR
OVERTIME FOR THE DIVISION OF CORRECTION IN FISCAL YEAR
1981 BE NO MORE THAN 70 PERCENT OF THE AGGREGATE
EXPENDITURE FOR OVERTIME FOR THE DIVISION OF CORRECTION
IN FISCAL YEAR 1980.
