33) Att a Court of our Sovereign Lord King Willm The third of England &ca. held for Kent County this ~ twenty fourth day of March anno Domini 1702/1
John Sutton, having been Complained of for unreasonably beating his Servant, was ordered to give Securety for his Appearance here next Cort Whereupon Comes the Said John, and Acknowledgeth himself to be Justly indebted to his Sacred Majty King Wm. the third of England &ca. in the full and Just Sume of ten pounds Sterg mony of England. likewise Comes into Cort Morgan Brown and Wm. True And Acknowledge themselves to be respectively Sterg Each. The Said Severall Sumes to be levyed ^ on their and every of their goods or Chattells Lands or tenements to the use of his Said Majty & Successors in case the Abovemenconed John Sutton do not Make his Per= :Sonall Appearance at the next Cort to be holden for this County; and then and wheresoever the Said Court Shall be holden, Answer &ca. And likewise produce to the Cort the Servant So by him beaten, who now complaines. ~ The Same Day Comes into Court Mr. Elias King high Sherf of This County And Adjourns this Court, and likewise Continues all processe. untill the first Tuesday of Aprill next By Proclamation according to An Act of Assembly Entituled An Act for the Relief of Kent and Calvert Counties in this case Especially provided.
