      these words       Cepi Corpus pr me John Hawkins Sherf
        And thereupon ye Said pltf appears & | wth: leave ) Imprles untill next Court, att
        which Said next Court being the twentÿ Sixth Daÿ of Jarÿ 1702 likewise ye Said
        accoñ was Continued untill next Court, & Soe | Still ) Continued from Court to Court

      Kent Ss ~    John Loÿde of Kent Countÿ Plantr. Stands attached to answer unto Samll:
                  Talor of a plea of tresspass upon the Case ~~
        And whereupon the Said Samll: Taÿler bÿ Lawfull Lÿcence Did keep an Inn or house of ~
        Intertainmt on Chester Rivr in Kent Countÿ wthin the Jurisdiction of this Court
        from ye 15th Daÿ of December año Dñi 1698 untill the 29th Daÿ of Novembr. anno
        Dñi 1701 and Dureing the Said Time that he ye Said Samll: was Soe as aforesd Lÿcen=
      =sed the Said Samll: att ye Speciall Instance & request of ye Said John had Sold & Del:
        iver’d unto ye Said John Divers quantities of Liquors & Likewise accomodated him ~
        the Said John wth Divers others ordinarÿ accomodations amõunting to the Sume of Six
        hundred & ninetÿ four pounds of Tobaco and allsoe had Creditted a Certaine Thomas
        Taÿler wth: the Sume of fourtÿ Eight pounds of tobacco, & likewise had Sold & Delivered
        to the Said John Loÿde one felt hatt att ye rate & price of fity pounds of tobacco
        and allsoe had Sold & Delivered to the Said John Loÿd one Shillg & Sixpence Sterg att ye rate
        and price of Eighteen pounds of tobo all wch: Said Severall Sumes of moneÿ tobo amõunts
        in the whole to ye Sume of Eight hundred & fiftÿ pounds of tobacco as bô an acct
        thereof to this Declan añexed & here in Court brought the Same appears: in ~
        Condracon whereof the Said John Loÿd upon himselfe assumed & unto the Said
        Samll Taÿlor then & there faithfullÿ prmissed that he ye Said John Loÿd ye
        Sd Samll: he would well & truelÿ Content & paÿ & allthough the Said John Loÿd
        hath paÿd & Satisfied unto the Said Samll: Taÿlor the Sume of one hundred and
        Thirtÿ pounds of tobo part of the afore Said Sume of Eight hundred & fiftÿ pounds
        of tobo yett as to the residue thereof being Seaven hundred & twenty pounds of
        tobacco; The afore Said John Loÿd his prmiss & assumption aforesd little minding
        or regarding but plotting Contriving & fraudulentÿ Intending him the Said Samll:
        Taÿlor in that behalfe Craftÿlÿ & Subtilelÿ to Deceive & Defraud the aforesd Sume
        of 720ls of tobacco according to his aforesd prmisse & assumption hath not paÿd but ye Same
        to paÿ he hath Denÿed & refused & Still Doth Denÿ & refuse to the Dame of ye
        Said Samll Taÿlor 1440ls of tobo & thereupon he brings this Suite Macklin pr qr Pleadges &ca
