        Detaines: And Whereupon the plaintfs being Inhabitants of this
        Province by Richard Macklin their Attry Say that Whereas at
        A Session of Assembly begun and held at the City of St:
        Maries in the province of Maryland the one and twentyth
        Day of Septr: in the Sixth year of the Reign of late our Sovereign
        Lord and Lady William and Mary by the grace of God of England
        Scotland France and Ireland King and Queen &ca. held and published
        Amongst other things it was then there Enacted that from & —
        After the publication there of Any prson or prsons whatsoever
        intending to depart this province Shall first give notice Of
        his her or their departure intended by Setting up his her
        or their Names at the Secretaries office the full Space of three
        Months yt. if in the time afd yt. if in the time afd No prson
        Shall underwrite the Said prson or prsons So Setting up his
        her or their Names or Name respectivly as afd it Shall then
        be Lawfull for the Govr. keeper of the Great Seale or Secry
        of this province for the time being to Signe A pass to Any
        Such prson or prsons to depart this province for which pass
        the party Shall pay to the prson Signing the Same the Sume
        of two Shillings and Six pence Sterg And if Any prson or prsons
        upon any Suddaine or Emergent Occasion are necessitated to dept
        this province not having Set up his her Or their Name or
        Names at the Secretaries office afd then Such prson or prsons:
        giving good and Sufficient Security to the Governr. keeper of
        the great Seale or Secretary to discharge and pay all Debts and
        Accounts whatsoever, And be it further Enacted that Any Masters
        of Ships or vessells or any other prsons whatsoever that Shall
        Transport or Convey out of this province by Land or water —
        Any freeman being Endebted by bill bond account or other=
        wise to Any Inhabitant thereof without Such pass under ye. hand
        of the Govr. Chancellr. or Secretary afd Shall be liable to —
        Satisfy all Such debts Ingagements and Damages to the prson
        or prsons to whom Such debts or damages respectivly
        Shall be due within this province Except the Same be ~
        Otherwise Satisfyed or that the Transporter or Conveyer —
        Away of Such prsons or prson procure Such prson or prsons
        to retn. againe in one Month after &ca. As by the Said
        Act of Assembly referrence thereunto being had the Same
