All which above Specifyed goods and Chattells according to the Afd rates and prices Amounts in the whole to the Sume of twenty Seven thousand three hundred Seventy Eight pounds of tobacco as of his Own goods and Chattells and being thereof So possess’d the Said James Smith in his lifetime lost those – goods and Chattells out of his hands and possion which Said goods and Chattells afterwards that is to Say the tenth day of May anno Domi one thousand Seven hundred at Chester river within the – Jurisdiccon of this Court by finding Came to the hands and possion of the Said Edward Smith in his lifetime Yet the Said Edward knowing those goods and Chattells to be the proper him in his life time to prtaine and to him the Said Solomon after the death of the Said James Admr. of the goods and Chells which were of the Sayd James at the time of his death~ of the right to belong and prtaine but the Said Edward in his life – time devising and fraudulently intending Craftilly and Subtilly – to decieve and defraud the Said James in his life time and him the Said Solomon after the death of the Said James the Same goods and Chattells to the Said James in his life time or to the admr. after the death of the Said James altho’ the Said Edward in his life time & the afd Charles and Anne after the death of the Said Edward by him ye. Said Solomon was often required to do the Same (after the death of the Said James) hath not delivered but those goods and Chattells afterwards ( to wit ~ |
