(G) FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE STATE WORKMEN'S
COMPENSATION LAW, PARTICIPANTS IN THIS PROGRAM SHALL BE
CONSIDERED EMPLOYEES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES
WHILE ASSIGNED TO JOBS UNDER THIS SECTION. THE SECRETARY OF
HUMAN RESOURCES SHALL PAY INTO THE STATE ACCIDENT FUND THE
PREMIUM ESTABLISHED BY THE FUND AS NECESSARY TO PROVIDE
WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION FOR THESE INDIVIDUALS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.

AN ACT concerning

Vehicle Laws - Written Opinions by Hearing Officers

FOR the purpose of increasing from 20 days to 30 days the
time allowed for rendering a decision in an
Administration hearing.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article - Transportation
Section 12-203(b)(l) and (2)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1977 Volume and 1979 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article - Transportation

12-203.

(b) (1) Except as otherwise provided in the Maryland
Vehicle Law, the applicant or licensee may request a hearing
within 15 days from the date that the notice required by
this section is mailed.

(2) The hearing shall be held within 30 days of
the date of the request, and the Administration shall render
a decision within [20] 30 days of the hearing.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.
