AN ACT concerning

Queen Anne's County - Distribution of Appearance Fees

FOR the purpose of providing that appearance fees in Queen
Anne's County shall be distributed to the County Law
Library on recommendation by the Library Committee and
approval by the County Administrative Judge.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 7-204(e)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

7-204.

(e) In Queen Anne's County, the clerk of the Circuit
Court shall retain all appearance fees collected under
subsection (a) OF THIS SECTION for purchasing and
maintaining legal publications recommended for purchase by
the [Queen Anne's County Bar Association and approved by the
county administrative judge, except court reports, codes of
laws, digests, indices or annotations of cases, or legal
encyclopediae.] LIBRARY COMMITTEE OF THE QUEEN ANNE'S COUNTY
BAR ASSOCIATION, AND APPROVED BY THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATIVE
JUDGE OF THE SECOND JUDICIAL CIRCUIT FOR THE GENERAL
PURPOSES OF THE LAW LIBRARY OF THE COUNTY.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.

Somerset County - Volunteer Fire Department

FOR the purpose of altering the amount that an active member
of any volunteer fire department in Somerset County is
exempt from taxation for municipal purposes.
