public at large, shall serve a six-year term, two, one of
whom is appointed from each industry, shall serve a
five-year term, one, who is appointed from the State
Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, shall serve a
four-year term, one, who is appointed from the Maryland
Department of Agriculture, shall serve a three-year term,
one, who is appointed from the University of Maryland shall
serve a three-year term, and one, who is appointed from the
State Department of Licensing and Regulation, Division of
Labor and Industry, shall serve a two-year term.
A member serves until his successor is appointed and
qualifies. An appointment to a vacancy in an unexpired term
is limited to the remainder of that term. The members shall
serve without compensation, except that members who are not
State employees shall be compensated for expenses as
provided in the budget of the Department. The Council shall
elect annually a chairperson from among its members
appointed from the public at large.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.

AN ACT concerning
Baltimore City - Real Estate Practices
FOR the purpose of changing references to buyers and clients
in the laws relating to steering and other
discriminatory real estate practices in Baltimore City
in order to reflect more accurately the legal
relationship between real estate salesmen, agents, or
brokers and persons who are interested in purchasing or
renting property in Baltimore City.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 230D(b), (d), (e), and (f)
Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:
