LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 33

"POLITICAL SUBDIVISION" MEANS ANY COUNTY OR MUNICIPAL
CORPORATION IN THIS STATE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language
substituted without substantive change for Art.
41, § 266—O(10), which presently defines
"municipal corporation" and "county" to the same
effect as the revision.

The present specific reference to Baltimore City

is deleted as unnecessary in light of the

definition of "county" in § 1—101 of this
article.

Although "political subdivision" is defined in §
1-101 of this article, this more limited
definition is necessary since, as used in this
subtitle, the term does not include a "special
taxing district".

As to municipal corporations, see Art. 11E of the
State Constitution and Art. 23A of the Code.
The present specific reference to the former is
deleted as unnecessary.

(N) PROPERTY.

"PROPERTY" MEANS ANY REAL OR PERSONAL PROPERTY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added
for clarity and to avoid unnecessary repetition
in this subtitle of the term "real or personal
property".

The term "real property" is defined in § 1-101 of
this article.

(O) PUBLIC BODY.

"PUBLIC BODY" MEANS:

(1)   A POLITICAL SUBDIVISION;

(2)   AN INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY; OR

(3)   THE STATE AVIATION ADMINISTRATION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
without substantive change from the first
sentence of Art. 41, § 266W(e).

For simplicity, the present sentence is restated
as a formal definition, and the more general term
"public body" — a term sporadically used in
present Art. 41, § 266W — is adopted as the
defined term and substituted, without substantive
change, for references to "counties or
