EMERGENCY BILL

AN EMERGENCY ACT concerning

The Personnel Law

FOR the purpose of extending the effective date of the
provisions of CB-1-1976 as to classified employees of the
Hospital Commission and its member hospitals.

BY repealing and reenacting with amendments:

Chapter 97,
Section 12,

Laws of Prince George's County, Maryland, 1976

WHEREAS, the County Executive has requested the County
Council to extend to July 1, 1980, the requirement of
CB-1-1976 to complete the integration of Hospital Commission
employees into the County Merit System; and

WHEREAS, the estimated fiscal impact of the integration
of Hospital Commission employees into the County Merit
System was not anticipated at the time CB-1-1976 was enacted
and merits further consideration; and

WHEREAS, additional time is needed to prepare, submit,
and approve various personnel law, classification plan, and
salary provisions needed to complete the integration.

Taxicabs

FOR the purpose of amending the inspection requirement,
to raise rates charged by taxicab drivers, and to provide
the mechanism for future rate increases.

BY repealing and reenacting with amendments:
