Chapter 37

AN ACT authorizing the issuance of bonds of Montgomery
County, Maryland, in the principal amount not exceeding
$1,124,500 upon its full faith and credit for the
construction of fire engine houses within the Consolidated
Fire Tax District as the boundaries are defined by Chapter
21 of the Montgomery County Code 1972, as amended,
prescribing the terms and conditions, by reference, upon
which said bonds shall be issued and delivered and other
incidental details with respect thereto; providing for the
levy of unlimited ad valorem taxes for the payment of the
principal and interest thereof, and providing that the
principal and interest shall be paid primarily from the
proceeds of the district tax levied under the provisions of
the said Chapter 21.

Effective Date February 8, 1979.

Chapter 38

AN EMERGENCY ACT to amend Subsection (d) of Section
8-29A, title "Moratorium on Alteration or Demolition of
Historic Sites", Article III, title "Permits" of Chapter 8,
title "Buildings", Montgomery County Code, 1972, as amended,
by adding language which authorizes the director of the
department of environmental protection to cause building
permits governed by the foregoing sections to be issued
forthwith where the issuance thereof will otherwise further
the intent and purposes of historic preservation.

Effective Date November 28, 1978.

Chapter 39

AN ACT to amend Chapter 33, title "Personnel," Article
IV, title "Employer-Employee Relations Act," Montgomery
County Code 1972, as amended, by adding a new Section 33-74
thereto, title "Cost-of-Living Adjustment" to provide for an
annual cost-of-living adjustment for all County employees
whose salaries are determined by the uniform salary plan.

Effective Date February 14, 1979.
