Chapter 29

AN ACT to amend Chapter 2 title "Administration",
Division 2 title "Department of Community and Economic
Development"; Chapter 2, Division 4 title "Department of
Environmental Protection", and Chapter 2, Division 11A title
"Department of Transportation" of the Montgomery County Code
1972, as amended, by repealing and re-enacting with
amendments Section 2-27, title "Department of Community and
Economic Development Generally."; Section 2-29 title
"Department of Environmental Protection - Generally."; and
by adding a new Subsection (k) to Section 2-58A titled
"Department of Transportation - Generally."; to transfer
from the Department of Environmental Protection the
responsibility for environmental planning, including
planning, design, and development of disposal sites and
facilities for sewerage and solid waste management and place
such responsibilities in the Department of Community and
Economic Development; to transfer effective July 1, 1980,
from the Department of Environmental Protection the
responsibility for the operation, engineering and
maintenance of sanitary landfills and other solid waste
disposal sites and place such responsibilities in the
Department of Transportation.

Effective Date November 24, 1978.

Chapter 30

AN ACT authorizing the issuance of bonds of Montgomery
County, Maryland, in the principal amount not exceeding
$10,940,000 upon its full faith and credit for site
acquisition and public buildings and the necessary
furnishings and fixed permanent equipment therefor,
prescribing the terms and conditions, by reference, upon
which said bonds shall be issued and delivered and other
incidental details with respect thereto, and providing for
the application of the proceeds of such bonds and for the
levy of unlimited ad valorem taxes for the payment of the
principal and interest thereof.

Effective Date February 8, 1979.
