AN ACT to amend Chapter 2 of the Montgomery County
Code, 1972, as amended, title "Administration", by repealing
and reenacting with amendments Section 2-17(b)(3) to provide
that a local state of emergency may not continue in excess
of seven days without the consent of the County Council, and
to conform that section with Article 16A, Section 6D(a),
Annotated Code of Maryland.
Effective Date February 8, 1979.

AN ACT and ORDINANCE amending and supplementing Bill
No. 6-76, introduced at the March Legislative Session of
1976, enacted April 13, 1976, and becoming effective July 8,
1976, as Chapter 39 of the Laws of Montgomery County of
1976, to provide, in accordance with the provisions of
Section 3 thereof, that the $30,000,000 "Pollution Control
Revenue Bonds (Potomac Electric Project)" thereby authorized
to be issued may be issued in an additional amount not to
exceed $5,000,000, for an aggregate of not exceeding
$35,000,000 and to provide that the Bonds may be issued to
mature within the maximum maturity period allowed by
Maryland law at the time of issuance.
WHEREAS the estimated costs of the Project for which
$30,000,000 "Pollution Control Revenue Bonds (Potomac
Electric Project)", were authorized to be issued under the
provisions of Bill No. 6-76 introduced at the March
Legislative Session of 1976, enacted April 13, 1976, and
becoming effective July 8, 1976, as Chapter 39 of the Laws
of Montgomery County of 1976, have increased since the
enactment of that Bill, and
WHEREAS the County Council wishes to exercise the
authority that it reserved to itself under Section 3 of that
Bill to increase the amount of the Bonds issued by an act
supplemental thereto, and further to provide that the Bonds
may be issued to mature on whatever date may be the maximum
allowed under Maryland law at the time the Bonds are issued
or on any earlier date, now therefore
Effective Date February 8, 1979.
