VETOES
May 27, 1980
Honorable Benjamin L. Cardin
Speaker of the House of Delegates
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404
Dear Mr. Speaker:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 830.
This bill authorizes the creation of a State debt for
$1,000,000 to be used for a State grant to the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore to construct, renovate, improve,
and equip the Memorial Stadium on 33rd Street in the City of
Baltimore.
Senate Bill 423, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 27, 1980 accomplishes the
same purpose.
Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign House Bill
830.
Sincerely,
Harry Hughes
Governor
House Bill No. 834

its grounds, tombs, vaults, and monuments subject to
the condition that the Westminister Preservation Trust,
Inc. provide at least an equal and matching fund for
the same purpose; providing that no portion of the
