Honorable Benjamin L. Cardin
Speaker of the House of Delegates
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404
Dear Mr. Speaker:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 634.
This bill authorizes a Garrett County debt of up to
$6,000,000. Proceeds of the bonds would be used for capital
improvements at Garrett County Memorial Hospital.
Senate Bill 732, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on April 8, 1980 accomplishes the
same purpose.
Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign House Bill
634.
Sincerely,
Harry Hughes
Governor
