AN ACT concerning

Natural Resources - Teen Employment and
Community Service Pilot Program (T.E.C.S.)

FOR the purpose of creating a Teen Employment and Community
Service Program (T.E.C.S.) in the Department of Natural
Resources; providing for the administration of grants
to the counties and Baltimore City by the Secretary of
Natural Resources; providing for the promulgation of
rules and regulations by the Secretary; providing
funding for the program; making this Act contingent
upon the appropriation of sufficient funding in the
State budget; and relating generally to the Teen
Employment and Community Service Pilot Program.

Section 12-101 through 12-109, inclusive, to be under

the new title "Title 12. Teen Employment and

Community Services (T.E.C.S.)"

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

TITLE 12. TEEN EMPLOYMENT AND COMMUNITY SERVICES (T.E.C.S.)

12-101.

(A)  IN THIS TITLE, THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE
MEANINGS INDICATED.

(B)  "COMMUNITY" MEANS A COUNTY OR BALTIMORE CITY.

(C)  "DEPARTMENT" MEANS THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL
RESOURCES.

(D) "PARTICIPANT" MEANS A TEENAGER BETWEEN THE AGES OF
14 AND 20 SELECTED TO WORK IN THE PROGRAM.
