FUNDS AS NECESSARY FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS AND REPAIRS TO
THE CONVENTION HALL.

(B)  THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS SHALL APPROVE EXPENDING
FUNDS FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS AND CAPITAL REPAIRS TO THE
CONVENTION HALL TO THE EXTENT AUTHORIZED IN THE OPERATING OR
CAPITAL BUDGET OF THE STATE. HOWEVER, AFTER DECEMBER 31,
1985 NO FUNDS SHALL BE EXPENDED BY THE STATE FOR CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENTS OR CAPITAL REPAIRS TO THE OCEAN CITY CONVENTION
HALL.

(C)  ANY NAME GIVEN TO ANY SECTION OF THE CONVENTION
HALL BY OFFICIAL ACTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS MAY BE
CHANGED SUBSEQUENTLY ONLY BY ACTION OF THE BOARD.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That a presently
existing obligation or contract right may not be impaired in
any way by this Act.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the present
employees of the Ocean City Convention Hall, other that the"
Executive Director or Manager, Acting Executive Director or
Manager, and Deputy Executive Director or Manager, shall at
their option become employees of the Mayor and Council of
Ocean City with the same rights regarding tenure of
employment as members of the personnel merit system of the
Town of Ocean City.

SECTION 3 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.

AN ACT concerning

Mrs. Alice M. McGrath Death Benefits

Pensions - Death Benefits for Heirs

FOR the purpose of directing the Board of Trustees of the
Maryland State Teachers' Retirement System to pay

certain persons death benefits or an allowance

equivalent to the amount that would be required by a
certain Act. requiring payment of certain optional
benefits to the heirs of members of the State
employees, teachers, and State Police pension systems
who died under certain conditions.
