SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.

Electronic Terminals

FOR the purpose of specifying that certain telephones are
not electronic terminals for purposes of the provisions
that require banking institutions to have prior
approval of the Bank Commissioner for terminals.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland

(as enacted by Chapter ____ (H.B. 1) of the Acts of the

General Assembly of 1980) be repealed, amended, or enacted
to read as follows:

Article - Financial Institutions

5-502.

(a) In this section[, "electronic]:

(1) "ELECTRONIC terminal" means any manned or
unmanned electronic machine that:

[(1)] (I) Enables a customer of a banking
institution to:

[(i)] 1. Withdraw money from an account
or under an authorized line of credit of the customer with
the banking institution;
