SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.

Public Service Commission - Rate Increase Hearings

FOR the purpose of requiring hearings by the Public Service
Commission at a certain location and time for rate
increases.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 82A

Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 78 - Public Service Commission Law

82A.

For each application for a rate increase affecting
Montgomery County or Prince George's County, the Public
Service Commission shall hold [at least one hearing during
evening hours in the county] HEARINGS SESSIONS OF A HEARING
AT A CONVENIENT LOCATION AND TIME DURING THE EVENING HOURS
IN THE SERVICE AREA affected AS ARE NECESSARY to receive
public comment.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.
