(B)       BANK.

"BANK" MEANS A COMMERCIAL BANK OR A NATIONAL BANKING
ASSOCIATION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 11, §
109(1).

The term "commercial bank" is substituted for the
reference to a "state ... bank". The former, as
defined in § 1—101 of this article, has the same
meaning as does the latter under the definition
of "State bank" in present Art. 11, § 109(7).

The term "national bank association" is defined
in § 1-101 of this article.

(C)       CONSTITUENT BANK.

"CONSTITUENT BANK" MEANS A PARTY TO A CONSOLIDATION,
MERGER, OR TRANSFER OF ASSETS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
from Art. 11, § 109(2) and (5).

The term "transfer of assets", which is defined
in subsection (e) of this section, is added as
discussed in revisor's note to § 3—702 of this
subtitle.

The only other changes are in style.

(D)      SUCCESSOR.

"SUCCESSOR" MEANS THE BANK THAT CARRIES ON THE BUSINESS
OF THE CONSTITUENT BANKS AFTER A CONSOLIDATION, MERGER, OR
TRANSFER OF ASSETS.
