(d)  After the [Administration] LOCAL AUTHORITY
issues the permit, the [Administration] LOCAL AUTHORITY
shall notify the State Highway Administration or, as to
parking spaces in Baltimore City, the Baltimore City
Department of Transit and Traffic, OR, AS TO PARKING SPACES
IN BALTIMORE COUNTY, THE BALTIMORE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF
TRAFFIC ENGINEERING.

(e)  Except in Baltimore City AND BALTIMORE COUNTY,
within 30 days after it receives the notification required
by subsection (d) of this section, the State Highway
Administration shall:

(1) Place and maintain at the
least one sturdy upright sign that:

proper place at

(i) Contains a clear and easily
recognizable representation of a wheelchair; and

(ii) Prohibits general public parking in
the reserved space; and

(2) Paint a red line on the curb, edge, or side
of the roadway, long enough to reserve a space for one Class
A (passenger) vehicle.

(f) In Baltimore City, the establishment of a reserved
parking space shall be subject to approval of the Baltimore
City Department of Transit and Traffic, in accordance with
the charter and public local laws of Baltimore City.

(G) IN BALTIMORE COUNTY, THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A
RESERVED PARKING SPACE SHALL BE SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF THE

BALTIMORE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF TRAFFIC ENGINEERING,
ACCORDANCE WITH THE CHARTER AND PUBLIC LOCAL LAWS

IN
OF

BALTIMORE COUNTY.

(b) [Each] UNLESS THE LOCAL AUTHORITY DESIGNATES

for the use of handicapped persons as follows:
