(b) The examining board shall meet at a place it
selects, which is convenient for any applicant for
examination. It shall meet specially upon the call of the
chairman for the purpose of preparing or conducting an
examination. At least 30 days' notice of any meeting for an
examination shall be given.
(c) The examining board may make rules and
regulations. Copies shall be published and supplied to an
applicant upon request.]

Section 7-206 of this subtitle creating the Mine
Examining Board and relating to the regulation of mines is
of no effect and may not be enforced after July 1, 1981. ]
7-301.
(b) "Examining authority" means [either] the Director
of the Bureau or his designee when referring to the
procedure for grant or suspension of a permit of competence
or [the Examining Board, provided for in § 7-206, when
referring to the procedure for] grant or suspension of A
first-class mine foreman certificate of competence or A
fire-boss certificate of competence.

[Subject to the provisions of § 7-206 and this
subtitle, the] THE examining authority shall inquire into
the background and qualifications of each applicant for any
certificate or permit of competence. It shall prepare,
CORRECT, and grade the individual examinations for the
various certificates of competency.

ALL FIRST-CLASS MINE FOREMEN AND FIRE-BOSS CERTIFICATE
HOLDERS SHALL BE SUBJECT TO CONTINUING EDUCATION EVERY 3
YEARS. THE CONTINUING EDUCATION SHALL EMPHASIZE MINE HEALTH
AND SAFETY LEGISLATION AND REGULATIONS, ADVANCES IN MINING
TECHNOLOGY, AND ADVANCES IN FIRST AID THAT HAVE OCCURRED
SINCE THE CERTIFICATE HOLDER'S MOST RECENT EXAMINATION. ALL
FIRST-CLASS MINE FOREMEN AND FIRE-BOSS CERTIFICATES ISSUED
PRIOR TO JULY 1, 1980 SHALL EXPIRE NO LATER THAN JULY 1,
1983 UNLESS REISSUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS SECTION.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.
