SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

SUBTITLE 5A. PERSONNEL MERIT SYSTEM FOR THE
CIRCUIT COURT FOR BALTIMORE CITY

3-5A-01.

(A)  IN THIS SUBTITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE
MEANING INDICATED.

(B)  "DIRECTOR" MEANS THE DIRECTOR OF THE PERSONNEL
MERIT SYSTEM.

(C)  "EMPLOYEE" MEANS A PERSON WHO IS EMPLOYED IN A
POSITION THAT IS SUBJECT TO THE PERSONNEL MERIT SYSTEM.

(D) "PERSONNEL MERIT SYSTEM" MEANS THE PERSONNEL MERIT
SYSTEM FOR THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK OF THE CIRCUIT COURT FOR
