Article 10 - Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact

Section 40(n)(l)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1976 Replacement Volume and 1979 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 10 - Attorneys at Law and Attorney in Fact

40.

(n) (1) The State's Attorney's salary [is $25,000]
SHALL BE EQUAL TO THE SALARY OF THE DISTRICT COURT JUDGES OF
THE TRIAL COURTS OF GENERAL JURISDICTION OF THE EIGHT
JUDICIAL CIRCUITS IN THE STATE. HE MAY NOT ENGAGE IN THE
PRIVATE PRACTICE OF LAW.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
may not be construed to extend or apply to the salary of the
State's Attorney in office on the effective date of this
Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the salary of
the State's Attorney shall take effect at the beginning of
the next following term of office.

SECTION 2 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.

Commission on Medical Discipline

FOR the purpose of allowing the Commission to perform
preliminary investigations prior to referring a
complaint; clarifying that the investigatory body shall
complete its review and submit a report to the
Commission by a certain date; enabling the Commission
to re-refer cases under certain circumstances;
