AN ACT concerning

Montgomery County - Real Estate Practices
MC 203-80

FOR the purpose of changing references to buyers and clients
in the laws relating to steering and other
discriminatory real estate practices in Montgomery
County in order to reflect more accurately the legal
relationship between real estate salesmen, agents, or
brokers and prospective buyers or renters who are
interested in purchasing or renting property in
Montgomery County.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 56 - Licenses

Section 230E(c) and (e)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 56 - Licenses

230E.

(c) For purposes of this section:

(1)  "Residential property" means any building,
structure or portion thereof which is occupied as, or
designed to be occupied as a residence, and includes any
vacant land which is offered for sale or lease for the
construction or location thereon of any such building,
structure or portion thereof.

(2)  "Person" includes one or more individuals,
corporations, partnerships, associations, labor
organizations, legal representatives, mutual companies,
joint stock companies, trusts, unincorporated organizations,
trustees, receivers or fiduciaries.

(3)  "Residential property" for rent includes
residential property which the owner has made available for
