AN ACT concerning

Veterinary Medicine - Penalties in Lieu of or in
Addition to Suspension or Revocation

FOR the purpose of allowing the Board of Veterinary Medical
Examiners to impose a certain penalty in lieu of or in
addition to suspension or revocation of a license; and
providing for the disposition of the penalties
collected.

Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article - Agriculture

2-310.1.

(A)  IN LIEU OF OR IN ADDITION TO SUSPENSION OF THE
LICENSE, THE BOARD MAY IMPOSE A PENALTY OF NOT MORE THAN
$5,000.

(B)  IN ADDITION TO REVOCATION OF THE LICENSE, THE
BOARD MAY IMPOSE A PENALTY OF NOT MORE THAN $5,000.

(C)  PENALTIES COLLECTED BY THE BOARD UNDER THIS
SECTION SHALL BE PAID OVER TO THE STATE TREASURER AND SHALL
BECOME A PART OF THE GENERAL FUND OF THE STATE.

(D)  THE BOARD SHALL ESTABLISH SUCH RULES AND
REGULATIONS AS ARE NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT THE PROVISIONS OF

THIS SECTION.
