FOR the purpose of allowing certain members of citizens'
advisory boards to serve an additional term beyond the
present limitation certain terms.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 43 - Health

Section 603(c)

Annotated Code of Maryland

. SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 43 - Health

603.

(c) (1) Of the board members initially appointed,
three [(3)] members shall have terms of one, two, and three
years, respectively, and four [(4)] members shall serve
terms of four years, all dating from July 1, 1972. Board
members appointed thereafter shall serve terms of four

years. No EXCEPT FOR ANY INITIALLY APPOINTED MEMBER

APPOINTED FOR AN INITIAL TERM OF FOUR YEARS WHO MAY SERVE
THREE CONSECUTIVE FULL TERMS AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED, NO
member shall serve more than two consecutive full terms.
ANY INITIALLY APPOINTED MEMBER MAY SERVE TWO FULL TERMS IN
ADDITION TO THE INITIAL TERM. Vacancies shall be filled for
the unexpired portion of the term in the same manner as the
original appointment.

(2) HOWEVER, AN INITIALLY APPOINTED MEMBER OF A
CITIZENS' ADVISORY BOARD UNDER THIS SUBSECTION MAY NOT SERVE
MORE THAN THREE FULL TERMS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.
