EXTENSION OF THAT ORDER PURSUANT TO § 27C(B).

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.

(Senate Bill 227)

AN ACT concerning

Consumer Representatives on Boards, Commissions, and
Councils Within the Department of Licensing and Regulation

FOR the purpose of authorizing appointments made by the
Governor or the Secretary to include one or more
consumer representatives to boards, commissions, or
councils within the Department of Licensing and
Regulation.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 41 - Governor - Executive and Administrative

Departments
Section 221A(c)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1978 Replacement Volume and 1979 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 41 - Governor - Executive and Administrative
Departments

221A.

(c) Every board, commission, and council, whether
regulatory or advisory, within the Department of Licensing
and Regulation shall include as a member one or more
consumer representatives. For the purposes of this
subsection, a consumer representative shall be a member of
the general public who is not a licensee or subject to
regulation and has not within the year prior to appointment
had any financial interest in or compensation from any
individual, association, unincorporated association,
corporation, or any other entity subject to licensing or
regulation by the board, commission, or council on which
that person is serving or will serve. [If existing boards,
