THERE IS A MOTION PICTURE AND TELEVISION DEVELOPMENT
OFFICE AND A MOTION PICTURE AND TELEVISION DEVELOPMENT AND
ADVISORY COUNCIL WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC AND
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT.

266-II-2.

(A)   THE COUNCIL CONSISTS OF 12 MEMBERS APPOINTED FOR
2-YEAR TERMS AS FOLLOWS:

(1)   ONE IS A MEMBER OF THE SENATE AND IS
APPOINTED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE;

(2)   ONE IS A MEMBER OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES
AND IS APPOINTED BY THE SPEAKER;

(3)   TEN ARE APPOINTED BY THE SECRETARY OF
ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE
GOVERNOR AND THE ADVICE AND CONSENT OF THE SENATE, AND
INCLUDE REPRESENTATIVES OF STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT,
MOTION PICTURE DEVELOPMENT COMPANIES, EMPLOYEE AND
PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS OF PERSONS EMPLOYED IN THE MOTION
PICTURE AND TELEVISION INDUSTRIES, AND OTHER APPROPRIATE
MEMBERS OF THESE AND RELATED INDUSTRIES.

(B)   THE MEMBERS APPOINTED FROM THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY
SHALL MEET WITH AND PARTICIPATE IN THE ACTIVITIES OF THE
COUNCIL TO THE EXTENT THAT SUCH PARTICIPATION IS NOT
INCOMPATIBLE WITH THEIR DUTIES AS MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL
ASSEMBLY.

(C)   EACH MEMBER SERVES AT THE PLEASURE OF THE PERSON
WHO APPOINTED THAT MEMBER.

(D)   THE COUNCIL SHALL ELECT A CHAIRMAN AND VICE
CHAIRMAN FROM AMONG ITS MEMBERS. THE VICE CHAIRMAN SHALL
ACT AS CHAIRMAN IN THE CHAIRMAN'S ABSENCE.

(E)   MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL SHALL RECEIVE NO
COMPENSATION BUT SHALL RECEIVE REIMBURSEMENT FOR REASONABLE
AND NECESSARY EXPENSES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STANDARD
TRAVEL REGULATIONS.

THE OFFICE OR COUNCIL MAY:

(1) ADOPT RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE
CONDUCT OF ITS AFFAIRS;

(2) REQUEST AND OBTAIN FROM ANY AGENCY OF STATE
AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT ANY ASSISTANCE AND INFORMATION
NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT THIS SUBHEADING;

(3) (2) ACCEPT AND EXPEND ANY GIFTS, REQUESTS
BEQUESTS, OR GRANTS FROM PUBLIC OR PRIVATE SOURCES FOR ANY
OF THE PURPOSES OF THIS SUBHEADING; AND
