    In the Name of God Amen I Mary Atkinson of Kent
                                                     being Sick
   County in the province of Maryland^ weak of Body but of Sound –
   disposing snece and memory thanks be to God for the same ~
   I do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, And ~
   first I give and humbly resign my soul into the hands of God who
   gave it and my Body to the Earth to be buryed in a Christian like
   and decent manner, Item I give and devise nine pounds Specie
   to my Son Stephen Bordley Atkinson in the care of my friend ~
   Hynson Smyth to be paid to him at the age of Twenty one years
   Item I give and devise to my Daughter Temperance Atkinson Nine
   pounds Specie Item I likewise devise to my Daughter Temperance
   Atkinson my silk Bonet Cloth Cloak three Gounds one Apron ~
   and one Peticoat to be in possession of said Hynson Smyth until –
   she is of proper age to receive the same   Item I give & devise all
   the Residue of my Estate to my friend Hynson Smyth —
   Lastly I do Confirm this to be in my last Will and Testament ~
   Revoking and Disanulling all other Will or Wills heretofore made
   as Witness my Hand and Seal this Twenty fourth day of November
   Seven hundred and Eighty three —
   Signed Sealed & Acknowledged                 Mary Atkinson {Seal-}
   in presence of us. —
   Nathan Smyth, Hannah Lynch, Hynson Smyth. —
   December 22. 1783 Then came Nathan Smyth Hannah Lynch and
   Hynson Smyth the Subscribing Witnesses to the within last Will and Testament
   of Mary Atkinson late of Kent County deced And Severally made Oath on the Holy ~
   Evangels, That they did See the Testator herein named Sign + Seal this Will
   and that they heard her publish & pronounce + declare the same to be her last
                                    at the same time
   Will & Testament, And that^ she was to the best of their apprehensions of sound
   disposing mind+memory and Understanding And that they Subscirbed –
   their names as Witness thereto in the presence and at the request of the
   Testator and in the presence of each other ———
