     In the name of God Amen I Andrew Mires of Kent County ~
   in the State of Maryland being now about to take a Voyage to Sea —
   in the Service of my Country and being in perfect health of Body —
   and of sound and disposing mind memory and Understanding, Considering
   the dangers of the seas and the perils of the War, the Certainty of
   death, and the uncertaintly of the time thereof, and being desireous ~
   of Setling my Worldy affairs, and thereby be the better prepared to —
   leave this World when it shall please the Almighty Father of Mercyes
   to call me hence, do therefore make this my last Will & Testament in
   manner and form following, that is to say . — First after my debts and
   funeral charges are paid, I give and bequeath to my Son James Tibbit
   Mires, all my Estate Real to him, and his Heirs for ever; but if my said
   Son should die under the age of twenty one without having Issue of
   his body lawfully begotten, then I give & bequeath the said Real Estate
   to my dear wife Elizabeth during her natural life remainder to my
   Brother George Mires and his Heirs for ever . ——
   2d I give also to my said Son two third parts of my personal Estate; and
   the other third to my wife —
   3   I order and direct that my wife, have the Guardianship education
   and care of my said child, andtoenable her to Support and conduct the –
   same until his full age, it is my desire that she take the profits of my
   whole Estate real and personal and apply the same to those purposes. —
    Lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my dear wife to be sole Executrix
   of this my last Will & Testament revoking & annulling all former Wills by
   me heretofore made Ratifying & Confirming this & none other to be my last
   Will & Testament. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
   Affixed my Seal this first day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand
   Seven hundred and Eighty one. ——
