(156) In the Name of God Amen I John Cadwalader now residing in Kent County in the State of Maryland being in Good health and of Sound, perfect and disposing mind and memory, do make and ordain this to be my last will and Testament Vizt. Imprimis I Give and devise to my dearly beloved Wife Williamina Cadwalader one third of the annual neat income produced from my farm called Bennetts Regulation and – the lands adjoining, lying in Kent County on Sassafrass River – in Maryland, during her Natural life, I also Give – and devise to my said Wife during her natural life the use of my House in Second Street, and the Stables and Coach houses erected, on the Lot belonging to the same, and on the other back Lot, all of which, I purchased of Samuel Roads, and all the appur= =tenances belonging thereto, together with all the household Furniture belonging thereto, that may be in said house at the time of my death, I also Give and devise one third of all the Monies, that may be due to me on Bond or Mortgage, after paying all my lawful Debts. I also Give and devise to my said Wife my Coach, harness for a pair of horses, and three coach horses such as She may chuse out of those that I may have at the time of my death. I also Give and devise to my said Wife three male – and three female Negro or Mulatto slaves Such as she may Chuse either belonging to my family or my Farm, I also Give and devise to my said Wife one third part of all the plate I may have at the time of my death – Together with a third part of all the House hold – linen, beds and bedding that I may have at the time of my death. and as I mean to make as Ample provision for my said wife Williamina as my Circumstances will permit, (doing justice to my Children by my former Wife ) I mean all the above devises as a full Compensation for all the claims she may |
