Ch. 273

$5,000. THE total of all types of loans that a credit union
may make to any one member directly and indirectly may not
exceed 10 percent of the credit union's paid-in and
unimpaired capital and surplus.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.

(Senate Bill 661)

AN ACT concerning

Public Education - Handicapped Children

FOR the purpose of altering the year in which the State
Superintendent of Schools must permit a child to remain
in a day-care center under the jurisdiction of which
was previously funded by the Mental Retardation
Administration; and clarifying language.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article - Education

Section 8-404(b)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1978 Volume and 1978 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article - Education

8-404.

(b) (1) Each plan shall provide for the education
of all handicapped children, including:

[(l)] (I) Those who are severely handicapped,
whose parents or guardians are domiciled in the county; and

[(2)] (II) [Upon] ON the referral of the State
Superintendent, those school age children WHO ARE in [day
care] DAY CARE centers THAT ARE under THE [jurisdiction]
JURISDICTION of the Mental Retardation Administration, whose
parents OR GUARDIANS are domiciled in the county. THOSE
SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN WHO ARE IN DAY-CARE CENTERS WHICH WERE
PREVIOUSLY FUNDED BY THE MENTAL RETARDATION ADMINISTRATION
