(4) Shows the annual effective rate of simple
interest, as defined in Subtitle 1 of this title, which is
charged, stated in percentage calculated to the nearest 1
percent] COMPLIES WITH § 12-106(B).

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.

AN ACT concerning

Food Stamps - Program Participation and
Administration

FOR the purpose of redefining the relationship between the
State and its political subdivisions in the
participation in and administration of the Federal Food
Stamp Act.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 88A - Social Services Administration

Section 88(a) and (c)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1969 Replacement Volume and 1978 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 88A - Social Services Administration

88.

(a) The Social Services Administration may implement,
in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Food Stamp
Act, a food stamp program in which the City of Baltimore and
all counties of the State shall participate and for which
the [city and counties] STATE shall bear the nonfederal
portion of the administrative costs for [their] THE
respective jurisdictions. The food stamp program shall be
administered by the City of Baltimore and all counties of
the State under the supervision and control of the Social
Services Administration and in conformity with the rules and
regulations of the Social Services Administration and
applicable federal statutes, rules and regulations.
