BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 33 - Election Code
Section 30-2(a) and (b)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1976 Replacement Volume and 1978 Supplement)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:
Article 33 - Election Code
30-2.
(a) The statement required by this subtitle shall be
filed on or before [September 1 of each year, and shall be
for a reporting period of twelve months ending the preceding
July 31] FEBRUARY 1 OF EACH YEAR AND SHALL INCLUDE ALL
CONTRIBUTIONS MADE DURING THE PRECEDING CALENDAR YEAR.
(b) Every person who has done business with the State,
or with a county, incorporated municipality, or other
political subdivision of the State during a reporting period
shall file the statement required by this subtitle if he
made or caused to be made a contribution to a candidate for
an elective office of the State or for an elective office of
a county or incorporated municipality of the State in any
primary or general election occurring during the reporting
period or during the preceding reporting period. A
CONTRIBUTION TO SOMEONE WHO THE DONOR EXPECTS TO BECOME A
CANDIDATE IN THE FUTURE SHALL BE REPORTED ALSO.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
statement required to be filed on or before February 1, 1980
under this Act shall include all contributions made during
the period beginning August 1, 1978 and ending December 31,
1979, inclusive.
SECTION 2 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.
