SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.

(Senate Bill 241)

AN ACT concerning

Professional Engineers - Superfluous Language

FOR the purpose of deleting certain superfluous language
from the Professional Engineers' Title and certain
obsolete language concerning the certificate given to
those persons successfully completing the engineering
examination.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 75 1/2 - Professional Engineers

Section 14(a)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1975 Replacement Volume and 1978 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 75 1/2 - Professional Engineers

14.

(a) Examinations shall be held at the time and place
that the Board determines. If examinations are required on
fundamental engineering subjects (such as are ordinarily
given in approved engineering curricula), the applicant
shall be permitted to take the examination prior to his
completion of the requisite years of experience, and credit
for the successful completion of this examination by the
applicant shall be valid for a period of ten years. [The
Board shall issue to each applicant, upon successfully
completing the examination in the fundamentals of
engineering, a certificate stating that he has passed the
examination and that his name has been recorded as an
engineer-in-training.]
