The Department of Public

Safety and Correctional

Services shall not expend

funds of any job or position

of__employment approved in

this budget in excess of

5,887 5,900 5,887 positions

of the total authorized

amount established in the

budget for the Department of

Public Safety and

Correctional Services at any
one time during fiscal year
1980, and that the Secretary
of the Department of Public

Safety and Correctional

Services utilize his

prerogatives under__Article

41, Section 201 through 204C
to implement this provision,
provided, however, that any
authorized job or position

to be filled above the

ceiling of 5,887 5,900 5,887
shall be approved by the
Board of Public Works but
shall not count against the
Pule of 200 imposed by the

General Assembly. The

establishment of new

positions of employment__not

authorized in the fiscal

year 1980 budget shall be

subject to Article 78A,
Section 163(a) and the Rule

of 200. Excess funds

generated as__a result of

this ceiling shall revert to
the General Fund Treasury of
the State.

Funds are appropriated in
various agencies' budgets to
pay for data services.
Authorization is hereby
granted to use receipts
from data services as
Special Funds for operating
expenses under this program.
