WHEREAS, For convenience of reference, the Town of
Hancock, a municipal corporation of the State of Maryland,
has authority in Section 19 of Article 23A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), as amended, to enlarge the
corporate boundaries of the municipal corporation, and

WHEREAS, The area intended to be annexed is contiguous
and adjoining to the existing corporate area as required by
said Section 19 of Article 23A of the Annotated Code of

Maryland, and

WHEREAS, The Town of Hancock has obtained the consent
for the proposed annexation from 100% of the property owners
who own or reside in the area to be annexed and consent from
the owners of 100% of the assessed valuation of the
properties located in the area to be annexed, which consents
meet the requirements of said Section 19 of Article 23A of
the Annotated Code of Maryland; a copy of the consent
(agreement to annex) dated December 5, 1977, by and between
Norhan, Inc., a Maryland corporation, and The Town of
Hancock, a Municipal Corporation of the State of Maryland,
attached; and

WHEREAS, The area to be annexed is described by metes
and bounds in the Agreement to Annex; and

[Section 16—4F of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Washington County, added.

ORDINANCE NO. 17

AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A CODIFICATION AND REVISION OF
THE CHARTER, ORDINANCES AND CERTAIN RESOLUTIONS OF THE
COMMISSIONERS OF HEBRON, OF WICOMICO COUNTY, MARYLAND;
PROVIDING FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF SAID CODE; REPEALING AND
SAVING FROM REPEAL CERTAIN ORDINANCES NOT INCLUDED THEREIN;
ESTABLISHING A PENALTY FOR ALTERING OR TAMPERING WITH THE
CODE; MAKING CERTAIN SUBSTANTIVE CHANGES IN PREVIOUSLY
ADOPTED ORDINANCES; AND PROVIDING A GENERAL PENALTY TO APPLY
TO VIOLATIONS OF ANY PROVISION OF THE CODE.

[Sections 1—1 through 10—6 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Wicomico County, repealed and added.
