SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That any
Supplement to this Code is similarly legalized and effective
to contain changes in the Public Local Laws of Baltimore
City as of the time of the publication of that Supplement.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.

AN ACT concerning

Baltimore City - Volunteer Workers

FOR the purpose of authorizing Baltimore City to provide, in
its discretion and as deemed appropriate, certain
benefits to volunteer City workers for injury or death
resulting from assigned tasks as City volunteer workers
and to indemnify City volunteer workers against claims
or suits under certain conditions.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Charter of Baltimore City
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

53. VOLUNTEER WORKERS

TO PROVIDE IN ITS DISCRETION SUCH BENEFITS AS MAY BE
DEEMED APPROPRIATE TO CITY VOLUNTEER WORKERS FOR INJURY OR
DEATH AS A RESULT OF PERFORMING TASKS ASSIGNED TO THEM AS
CITY VOLUNTEER WORKERS AND TO INDEMNIFY CITY VOLUNTEER
WORKERS AGAINST CLAIMS AND SUITS UNDER SUCH CONDITIONS AS
MAY BE PRESCRIBED.
