requiring wholesalers to collect a sales tax on
cigarettes; providing a certain means for calculating
the amount of sales tax on cigarettes and for the

cigarettes equal to the sales tax; and generally
relating to certain taxes to be imposed on cigarette
sales.

Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 1236.
This bill is substantially identical to Senate Bill
532.
For the reasons set forth in my veto message regarding
Senate Bill 532, I have decided to veto House Bill 1236.

AN ACT concerning
Prince George's County — Detainment of Delinquent Juveniles
PG 333-79
FOR the purpose of permitting in Prince George's County a
juvenile who is children who are a certain age and
adjudicated to be delinquent for a crime which if
committed by an adult could result in imprisonment for
a certain length of time to be detained by order of the
court in an adult penal institution for a certain
period of time, as long as the juvenile is confined in
a section which is separate from that maintained for
adults; providing that this Act shall become null and
void under a certain circumstance; providing that this
Act shall remain in effect for a certain period of time
