VETOES
FOR the purpose of altering the distribution of percentages
of certain mutuel pools under the authority of the
Maryland Racing Commission; altering certain tax rates
on certain money wagered at certain races; altering the
percentage of allocation of certain mutuel pools to the
Maryland Race Fund providing for the allocations to
Maryland Bred races in addition to Maryland Bred
purses: and altering the percentage of allocation of
certain mutuel pools by certain licensees to the
Maryland-Bred Race Fund.

Dear Mr. Speaker:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 611.
This bill alters the distribution of receipts from the
State's mile and half—mile race tracks.
Senate Bill 794, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 29, accomplishes the same
purpose in a more comprehensive fashion.
