AN ACT concerning
Garrett County — Amusement Licenses
FOR the purpose of repealing a 6 month amusement license in
Garrett County; providing for the conversion to an
annual amusement license upon the expiration of a 6
month amusement license; providing that the license tag
be permanently affixed to the amusement machine or
device; providing for the enforcement of this Act;
providing for the termination of this Act; and making
this Act an emergency measure.
May 29, 1979
Honorable Benjamin L. Cardin
Speaker of the House of Delegates
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404
Dear Mr. Speaker;
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 581.
This bill removes the provisions that provide for the
issuance of a six month amusement license in Garrett County,
provides for the conversion of that license to an annual
license, provides that license tags be attached to the
licensed amusement machine or device, and provides for the
enforcement of the licensing provisions by the county
sheriff's department.
Senate Bill 468, which accomplishes essentially the
same purpose, also passed and was approved by me on May 1,
1979.
For this reason it is unnecessary for me to sign House
Bill 581.
Sincerely,
Harry Hughes
Governor
