AN ACT concerning

Teachers' Retirement System - library Associates

FOR the purpose of including certain library associates
within the coverage of the Teachers' Retirement System.

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 1024.

This bill includes library associates in the Anne
Arundel County public library system within the coverage of
the Teachers' Retirement System.

For the same reasons given in the veto message on House
Bill 901, I have decided to veto Senate Bill 1024.

Senate Bill No. 1036

AN ACT concerning

The Board of Public Works - Contracts
Subject to Board Approval

FOR the purpose of providing that the requirement that
contracts for the expenditure of the proceeds of a loan
authorized by the General Assembly shall be subject to
the approval of the Board of Public Works before they
are executed, does not apply if otherwise provided by
law; providing that the Board of Public Works may adopt
regulations, subject to approval by a certain
committee, by which State departments, boards,
commissions, or other agencies may enter into capital
project related contracts and change orders prior to or
without Board of Public Works approval under certain
conditions specified in the Act; and clarifying
language.
