House Bill 1687, Which was enacted by the General

Senate Bill No. 1008

AN ACT concerning

Salisbury State College - Salisbury State College
Police Force

FOR the purpose of establishing the powers of Salisbury
State College Police; providing for the adoption of
standards and qualifications for Salisbury State
College Police Officers; and providing for the
promulgation of rules and regulations.

May 29, 1979
Honorable James Clark, Jr.
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 1008.

This bill establishes the power of Salisbury State
College Police, provides for standards and qualifications of
the officers and provides for promulgation of rules and
regulations.

Senate Bill 310, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 29, 1979 accomplishes the
same purpose on a uniform statewide basis.

Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign Senate Bill
1008.
