Forests and Parks — Program Open Space —
Baltimore City

FOR the purpose of repealing extending the time limit on the
authority of Baltimore City to use certain Program Open
Space funds for the maintenance and operation of
recreational facilities of the City under certain
conditions.

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 517.

This bill extends the time limit on the authority of
Baltimore City to use Program Open Space funds for
recreational facilities of the City under certain
conditions.

House Bill 835, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 14, 1979, accomplishes the
same purpose.

Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign Senate Bill
517.
