Section 266A (a)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1978 Replacement Volume and 1978 Supplement)

Preamble

WHEREAS, Legislative findings are made that the
establishment, use, or operation of any commercial office
buildings and ancillary facilities will benefit the people
of Anne Arundel County and of the State of Maryland, by:

(1)   Assisting and promoting in the relief of
conditions of unemployment existing in many areas of the
County and the State;

(2)   Assisting and promoting in the development
of new commercial, industrial, and manufacturing plants
which are essential to relieve this unemployment and to
establish a balanced economy within the County and State;

(3)   Assisting in the retention of commerce,
industry, and manufacturing in the County and State; and

(4)   Assisting or promoting the economic
development, and the present and prospective health,
happiness, safety, right of gainful employment, and general
welfare of the citizens of the County and State; now,
therefore,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 41 — Governor — Executive and
Administrative Departments

266A.

(a) As used in this subheading, the term "industrial
building" or "buildings" means any building or structure, or
portion thereof, suitable for or intended for use as a
factory, mill, shop, processing plant, research and/or
development laboratory, warehouse, assembly plant,
fabricating plant, and offices related to any of the
foregoing and/or necessary or useful machinery and
equipment, to be leased or sold to an industrial concern
(or, in the case of pollution control facilities, to a
public service company) by the municipality or county by
which it is acquired. The term also means any office
building for use as corporate or company headquarters or
regional offices which the legislative body of a
municipality or county finds would materially contribute to
any one or more of the legislative purposes set forth in §
266B (b). The term also means any buildings, structures,
offices, fields and/or other real or personal property
